Description
The Portland, Oregon based Jantzen company had brilliant advertising campaigns in the 30’s thru 50’s using famous illustrators. in this advertisement artist Pete Hawley portrays a young woman, wearing a daisy trimmed swimsuit, plucking petals from a flower. The petals drop in the hand of a soldier home on leave. Perhaps she is saying “he loves me, he loves me not”. The illustration implies that wearing the formfitting swimsuit will create memories for the soldier as he heads back to service. This is an original print ad from a magazine….not a copy or reproduction. The piece is suitable for framing. Shipped in a mailing tube or flat with cardboard backing to protect during shipping.
