Evening Dresses
Getting dressed for an actual evening out is stressful. Not the good kind of stress. The standing-in-front-of-your-closet-with forty-minutes-till-you-need-to-be-out-the-door stress. The stakes are high when it comes to occasions. You know it and your outfit will too. That’s why we took extra care building this collection.
When we kept coming back to one thing while curating this collection. Evening dresses tend to swing too far one way or the other. Play it safe and you end up with a dress that nobody notices. Try to steal the show and it’s easy to feel like the dress is wearing you. Finding that middle ground is much trickier than you’d think, and that’s where we spent our time and energy.
We only included dresses here because we swear in something they do exceptionally well. Dresses that photograph great but also allow you to enjoy a dinner out without having to tug and adjust every few minutes. Flowy dresses that actually flow, because we feel like we live in our clothes these days. Tailored bodices that do the work for you so you can forget about your outfit and focus on enjoying your night. We want our dresses to perform as well as they look.
Speaking of performance, we’ve put thought into range as well. A formal gala for a charity and that special birthday dinner are evening occasions through and through. They are not, however, the same shopping brief and the dress that wow’s at one will probably not translate well to the other. That’s why we included something for all of those in-between moments. Dresses that make a statement for when the occasion calls for it. Dresses with midi lengths that feel special but allow you to move freely. Variety in necklines, sleeves, and color because let’s be honest, most of us aren’t going to only wear that dress once.
Lastly, and perhaps most obviously, each of these dresses is something we would wear ourselves. We wouldn’t hesitate to wear them to an occasion that mattered to us. Because let’s be real, wearing an evening dress isn’t the time to hide.
