Floral Dresses
Floral prints have a bad reputation they don’t entirely deserve. They get dismissed as safe or boring, and then someone walks into a room wearing the right one and everyone sees. It. Flaresome thinks you should own and wear floral dresses confidently. But there is a reason florals get dismissed. The problem isn’t the print. Most floral dresses are too sweet, or too busy, or so aggressively trendy that they look dated after one season. It takes way too long to find one that works.
Here’s the thing: that’s exactly why we built this collection. We went through floral dresses, we narrowed down the options, and these are the ones we think are actually worth your time. We asked ourselves one question when curating these pieces: will we reach for this over and over? Or will it feel like a costume after wearing it once?
Here are some floral dresses that you can wear again and again. Dresses that cover real life occasions. That means a floral midi that can take you through summer wedding season without making you feel like you stumbled out of a garden center. It means a wrap dress with a smaller print that can work for the office on those warm days and still look chic for dinner out. It means lighter cotton options for weekends when you want to look like you put together without trying hard. Find the full range here because a floral dress shouldn’t just be for one moment in a woman’s life. It should be for many.
We have been thoughtful about the scale and color of the prints. There is a big difference between a large graphic flower and a scattered ditsy pattern, and we love both but the dress has to earn it. We paid attention to whether the print is scattered or intentionally placed, if the base color grounds or fights the print, and what the silhouette is doing underneath. A great floral dress isn’t completely reliant on the print to make it work. The fit has to be flattering. The fabric has to feel good against your skin and drape properly.
We’ve also included some versions of the floral dress that you can rock into another season, paired with boots and a coat in October and sandals come July. We included those for a reason too: versatility in print dressing is kind of underrated and we wanted to show you which ones those are. Done right, a floral dress is not your wardrobe compromise. It’s one of the best things in your wardrobe.
