Dresses
I know a version of dress shopping where everything goes smoothly. You know the event you’re shopping for, you know what you want, you find it quickly, it fits, you leave. Sure, that version exists.
Just not usually. More typically it’s 60 minutes of pinning and scrolling through dresses that are sort-of-the-right-color or -length. Or it’s ordering something that looks amazing online and photographing beautifully but ultimately hangs in your closet unworn because it just doesn’t work once it’s on you in real life.
We put this collection together with the intention of closing that gap. Every dress we feature has been carefully curated to solve a problem. That Sunday lunch dress that feels effortless but still put together enough that you don’t look like you clearly just fell out of bed.
The work dress that doesn’t scream trendy and doesn’t require you to meticulously plan out shirts and layering to look office ready. The guest at a wedding dress that helps you effortlessly skirt the line of under dressing and “appropriately” dressing while still somehow not unintentionally upstaging anyone. These are problems.
Real life problems. They deserve solutions, not just aspirational clothes that would look great if you also had the shoes and really good festival lighting. We’re also picky about fabrics because honestly, it’s the thing that makes or breaks a dress.
How it moves. How it holds up after a few hours of wear. Dresses that look incredible when you first pull them out of your bag but then require you to constantly adjust at noon don’t make for great dresses no matter how much they might look like you on a store mannequin.
You’ll notice that what you see here spans an actual range of occasions, styles, and price points because we don’t subscribe to the idea that only certain budgets can afford nice things. Some of these dresses are investment pieces that we know you’ll be wearing for years to come. Some are lower priced but truly over-deliver.
What each link has in common is that we would wear each of them. Wear them to places we actually go, and wear them with the shoes and other clothes we already own. We’re not picking them out for an editorial, specific shot.
We want you to wear them. Dresses are one of the most efficient pieces you can buy. One piece, full outfit.
Done well, they can also be some of the most empowering. We only want to highlight the ones that do it right.
