Camisoles
There exists an article of clothing that excels at quietly doing its job. It makes no grand statements. It simply works whether on its own or underneath something else. We’re talking about camisoles. They’re the foundation beneath the blazer that pulls an outfit together. They’re the top you throw on for an evening when it’s warm out that looks intentional rather than incidental. We’ve always felt camisoles get overlooked, relegated to the basics section when the best ones are anything but.
What you’ll notice about this group is we’ve been thoughtful about what really matters. Straps that adjust to land correctly on all shoulder sizes. Weighty fabric that can be worn any time of year, not just when it’s warm out. Necklines that are flattering, not gaping. These are all things you don’t notice until you own a camisole that doesn’t screw any of them up and you realize how few can actually check all those boxes.
We’ve included a range of styles because camisoles should fit into multiple aspects of your wardrobe. We have silk and satin ones that can pass as a cold weather night out option on their own, but also layer under a button down sweater during the day. We have ribbed cotton ones that go with everything from wide leg trousers and still look like you made an effort even if you didn’t. We also have lace-trimmed ones that mingle the line between bodysuit and top and do it in a way that looks purposeful rather than like you’re under dressed.
Camisoles should fit perfectly. That’s the one rule we didn’t compromise on. A camisole that is too short even by an inch will ride up when you move. If it’s cut too wide it will stretch out and look sloppy instead of something effortlessly chic. Each of these camisoles stays put and drapes as it should. That should be expected. It’s not.
This is also one of those categories where price doesn’t always equal quality. So we’ve done our homework and selected some that look way more expensive than they actually are and others that will stand the test of time and wardrobe rotations for years to come.
