Note: Progressive lenses are “panoramic” progressives with wide distance at the top of the lens, a band in the center for intermediate vision, and distance again at the bottom. This allows you to see the ground clearly in your distance vision. However, the lens does not provide full reading zone so very small writing will not be easy to see. Since these are for sport use, the intent is to design it to maximize vision zones used in sports and recreation. Option #1: RX Clip In: This is a piece that carries the prescription and snaps in behind the non-prescription lenses. This allows you to change out the front lens for various light conditions while only purchasing one pair of prescription lenses. This is the most economical way to go and is a good option for contact lens wearers who only need to occasionally insert the prescription adapter. The adapter can be rimless for the widest field of uninterrupted view, or full rimmed with a smaller viewing area, but can take much higher prescriptions and will hide the thickness of the lens. Maximum prescription range -+10.00 to -10.00 total power (sphere plus cylinder). Est. Processing time: 7 to 10 business days, high index adds an extra week. Option #2: “Adapter (cutouts)” is a lens carrier that hold the prescription lenses and replaces the non-prescription lenses. This option will be similar to the “direct in” lenses with the exception that there will be a shield with holes cut out to “insert” the lenses into. This allows for standard lens manufacturing technology allowing and hides some of the thickness. Recommended for higher prescriptions or those with narrower PD’s. This type of mounting is required for the large size frame (or insert) RX range: +6.00 to -6.00 total power (sphere plus cylinder) with max of 4.00 cylinder (varies by PD as well). Est. This gives the widest field of view, but the thickness of the lens will be the most visible as there is nothing to hide the thickness of the lens power, and the large size lens will increase overall thickness.
